The 5th Comenius meeting in Wroclaw, Poland
POLAND
Over fifty students took part in the 5th Comenius meeting in Wrocław. We had a pleasure of hosting such an extraordinary event for almost 50 guests from five countries (Germany, Turkey, Finland, Italy and France). The motto of the meeting was: "Slow down, slow food - you are what you eat. How to improve our body and health in terms of food". Every day students participated in interesting projects; they were met by a dietician, by representatives of Slow Food Youth Wrocław, a non-profit organization, took some guidelines for proper nutrition from an expert and visited a slow food restaurant in Wrocław. We showed our guests places in our city every tourist must see: the market square (looking for dwarfs), the zoo, the "Cathedral Island". They paid a visit to Rafał Dutkiewicz, the president of Wrocław, in the town hall. Also we showed them the World Games , the event which Wroclaw holds in 2017 (Mr. Tomasz Herman gave everyone a lesson of korfball). On the last day students presented songs or dances. The week was fascinating and we are happy that we met such great people from other countries.

 FINLAND
We arrived in Wroclaw real late at night. Our host families gave us a warm welcome and we went to bed as soon as possible so that we could have at least a three-hour sleep. The first day we went to the school which was really different from ours as it was a Catholic school. Every school presented their own country and school. After that we were divided into five groups and we were given a little tour of the school. We had the same groups all week. We did all these great projects and we also got to know each other a little bit. During the week we went to the zoo, ate in a slow food restaurant, went sightseeing, met with the president of Wroclaw, played World Games and danced. It was real fun! We would like to thank everybody involved in this meeting and the people who have made this possible for us. And a special thanks goes to our wonderful hosts who took care of us and showed us what it’s like to live in a city like Wroclaw. The trip was fantastic in every way! We made a lot of new friends and experienced much more that we could’ve thought. Our English skills improved a lot and we might have learned a few words in Polish, too. Also, we feel much braver than before the trip. Thank you for everything!

During my trip I've learned a lot of eating habits in Poland, Germany, Italy, Turkey and Finland.
I’ve also discovered the Polish lifestyle and some Polish words.

GERMANY
Hi guys,

we all just remember the week in Poland as a marvellous one. Everybody of us thinks it was a great and fantastic time, when we met new friends and spent a lot of time together. The activities were very interesting and we learned a lot about Wroclaw and Slow Food. The workshops about our daily eating habits were very useful, so we can now share our fresh experiences about good, clean and fair food (Slow Food) with our friends and families. I hope you will remember this time like we do.
We all hope we will see you again at the next Comenius meeting in France to get some inspiring and new experiences as well.

We have just come back from the Comenius meeting in Poland and, before the departure, we never imagined that it could be so much fun, interesting and impressive. Thanks to this project we discovered a city that we did not know. We found Wroclaw as a strange and singular city: at first we could not understand the presence of a super modern building next to an aged one; then we learned about the history of the town and everything was clearer and we began to appreciate all the aspects.
We enjoyed all the activities. They were very attractive, while we found the workshops a bit repetitive.
What amused us the most was the people we met. Polish girls were very kind with us and they were always available and willing to help 24/7, also people who were not in the project. What's more, we made friends from every country, who we had confrontations about any topic, laughed and danced a lot with. We are on good terms with them and we keep in touch almost every day with someone of them, for example French and German guys.
